JUSTVOTE WebSITE

TAKE THE BIAS OUT OF VOTING.

JustVote has taken years of research and innovation to find a solution to taking the bias out of voting. Our team has developed an advanced system and algorithm to match you with the best politician based off your own thoughts and beliefs.

THE TARGET AUDIENCE

JustVote aims to reach a diverse audience of all different ages and demographics, really anyone who is looking to educate themselves in politics and may consider themselves an undecided voter. JustVote’s main demographic is young adults in college who may be entering the real world on their own for the first time and really starting to develop thoughts and beliefs of their own. JustVote’s main age demographic ranges from about 18-26 but again is opened to anyone who finds the content useful. JustVote is completely unbiased and does not lean any way, JustVote wants to show you the entire picture with absolutely no bias. This way the viewer is allowed to make completely unbiased decision on their own based on their beliefs.

TODAY’S POLITICAL CLIMATE

No matter which way you lean today’s political climate is more tense than ever. It seems that every media source is leaning in one direction and trying to get the viewer to feel the same. It is getting increasingly harder to find completely unbiased news sources today. JustVote was developed to help young adults discover how they actually feel about all things politics, without having someone tell them how they should feel. When developing their own thoughts and beliefs it is nearly impossible for young adults to truly figure out how they feel about politics when everything they hear and see is manipulated and and filled with bias.

WHAT USERS ARE LOOKING FOR IN A VOTING WEBSITE?

This user research was conducted to help us better understand what the target audience is looking for when it comes to using a website for political information. This research was done by polling students at Rochester Institute of Technology to get their insights on what they were looking for in a voting website. We interviewed 300 students total with a diverse range in age, background and demographic.

THE BLIND TEST PAGE

OUR FAMOUS BLIND TEST

The Blind Test is one of the main driving forces behind JustVote and basically what we’re best known for. One of the main goals of the website is to take the bias out of politics and help users figure out which candidates and parties they best align with. The Blind Test allows users to do exactly that as it has them decide who they agree and disagree with completely blind. The user will view each candidates profile with that candidates identity and affiliations completely hidden. The user then has to decide if they agree or disagree with that candidate based solely on policy and their beliefs. This way the user cannot make any assumptions about each candidate based off their party or what they hear about them on the news. This Blind Test takes out any bias or preconceived ideas on candidates and makes the user make decisions based on facts and hard evidence.

2-01.jpg

BLIND TEST CATEGORIES

JustVote allows you to breakdown the Blind Test into multiple different categories and topics. This way the user can filter exactly what topics they want to be blindly tested on. This allows the user to select a test with candidates of certain parties, on specific issues and affairs or they can test randomly with a mix of different parties and issues. The Blind Test even allows the user to customize their own test with candidates and issues they are specifically interested in.

RANDOM BLIND TEST

From the Blind Test page the user can select a blind test from a diverse range of options. One of those options being random where the candidates, issues and topics would be at random and a mix of different types of information. This would be the best test to take for a completely undecided voter as it would cover topics from all over the spectrum and give access to a wide range of different possible candidates the user could best pair with.

2-01.jpg

Blind candidate profiles

Again, at this stage of the Blind Test the candidates profiles are completely hidden. The user is unable to see the name, picture, or even political party these candidates identify with. What the user can see however is a biography on each candidate as well as various other important pieces of information such as their beliefs on social issues, the economy and foreign affairs. The user has the ability to like or dislike each candidate solely based off their beliefs without even knowing that candidates identity. At the bottom of each profile the user has the ability to reveal each candidates identity. There is also a reveal all button at the bottom of the Blind Test that reveals the identity of all the candidates if the user wants to wait till the end.

ELECTIONS PAGE

The final tab on the JustVote Homepage is the Elections page. The Elections Page is an in depth breakdown of all the different elections taking place that need to be voted on. Most of the population tends to only focus on the largest elections like the presidential election. Where this election is extremely important it is still just as important to be informed on local issues and to vote in the smaller elections as well.

2-01.jpg

ELECTION BREAKDOWN

The Election page breaks down a comprehensive list of all the upcoming elections and what decisions are being voted on. This page breaks down the elections into two main categories, National and Local. If the user selects local all they have to do is plug in their zip code and JustVote gives them a list of all elections and possible candidates in their area.
